Madrigals is by far the most elite choir at Coppell High School which I'm blessed to be a part of as it only allows 24 singers (about 6 per SATB voice part). The choir has traveled internationally, touring in Europe and America for numerous festivals since Dr. Jolene Webster founded the choir. Decades after it's inception, the Coppell Madrigals Choir has built up an indomitable reputation. However, this year may just have been the biggest in Madrigal history. In addition to this being the choir's 20th anniversary, the choir was specifically invited to perform at the White House during December. Jumping at the opportunity, we flew to Washington D.C. on Friday morning. We spent the day sightseeing and the next day (12-12-14) we had the honor of performing in the East room of the White House in the morning and evening. Awarded with applause from the tourists and staff, the Coppell Madrigals' history seemed to culminate here. The fun thing was realizing that this was the legacy, precedent, and standard we set for Coppell. Go Cowboys!
